2019 Chrysler Pacifica Minivan features and changes

When the Chrysler Pacifica and Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid were unveiled a couple of years ago, Chrysler really did take a weary segment and shake things up in a way not seen for decades. As well as introducing a hybrid powertrain to a minivan for the first time, the Pacifica also introduced unprecedented levels of functionality, versatility, technology and bold styling. Now we're approaching the third model year of the Pacifica since it replaced the Town & Country it's time for a bit of a refresh, so here's a little of what to expect from the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica and 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.

Updates for the 2019 Model Year

Even though the Pacifica is already one of the most stylish vehicles of its type you can buy right now, things are being taken a little further this year with the introduction of an S Appearance Package for the Hybrid for first time. The new package includes black interior and exterior accents, 18-inch wheels with a Black Noise finish, and an all-black interior with black seats with Light Diesel Gray accents and the "S" logo.

A set of new 17-inch polished alloy wheels with Tech Gray pockets are now standard with Touring L Plus and Hybrid Limited models, and there's an available option with Hybrid Touring Plus and Hybrid Touring L models.

Beyond that, the changes are mostly enhancements to the existing trims levels, such as the LX now getting standard automatic headlamps, and the Pacifica Touring L now featuring standard heated steering wheel and auto-dim rearview mirror. And although they will not be available from the start of 2019 model year production, there will also be two new paint colours of Luxury White and Maximum Steele (late availability).

Why the Pacifica is So Special

It's obvious Chrysler isn't trying to reinvent the wheel here with this latest version of the family minivan and hybrid minivan, so it's worth reacquainting ourselves with what makes the Pacifica the standout model in its class.

First and foremost, this revolutionary vehicle is taken a step further than most thanks to the Hybrid's innovative, advanced hybrid powertrain. Regardless of who follows, the Pacifica will always be the first electrified vehicle minivan and achieves some 84 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) in electric-only mode, a 33-mile range on electric-only, and a total driving range of 566 miles.

But across the Pacifica lineup, this outstanding model also boasts more than a 100+ available safety and security features, the Uconnect Theater rear-seat entertainment system, available 4G Wi-Fi, and a full array of comfort and convenience technologies.

Non-hybrid versions of the Chrysler are powered by an award-winning Pentastar V-6 gas engine, which develops an impressive 287 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque that's easily enough to handle a full complement of passengers and cargo inside the Pacifica.

The 2019 lineup

There are six models in the 2019 Pacifica lineup and three in the Pacifica Hybrid family. Non-hybrid Pacifica models start with the entry level L model, and from there go onwards through LX, Touring Plus, Touring L, Touring L Plus and Limited variants. Touring Plus is where the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid kicks things off, and then there's the mid-range Touring L and finally the top-of-the-range Limited.
