2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee vs. 2017 Toyota Highlander

Finding the ultimate SUV can be a challenge. At Caledon Chrysler, we know you do tons of research before buying any car, truck, or SUV. In order to help make this process easier, we like to compare and contrast our favorite vehicles with those of the competition. This time around, we want to put the award winning 2017Jeep Grand Cherokee up against the popular 2017 Toyota Highlander. Let's take a closer look at both of these SUVs.

2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee

First thing we should mention is that the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee is the most awarded SUV ever.  From being named the 2017 Four Wheel SUV of the Year to the Midsize SUV of the Year, the critics and experts seem to have already made up their minds. The 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee is great for a number of reasons. It's available in seven different trim levels and it also has four different powerful engines to choice from. These powerful engines include the muscular 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine that puts out 360 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. If fuel efficiency is your thing, you'll love the 3.0-liter V6 ECODIESEL DOHC engine that puts out 240 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. When you combine all of this with eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission you can expect up to 8.4 L/100 km highway and a cruising range of 730 miles*

The 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee dominates off-road with up to up to 7,200 pounds (3,265 kg) in towing power, Quadra-Trac II 4WD system, Quadra-Lift Air Suspension system, and four-wheel traction control. On top of this toughness, there are also some unique luxury touches including available rain-sensing windshield wipers, Nappa leather-faced seats, leather trim seats with perforated inserts, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen display with Uconnect 8.4 NAV multimedia centre.

2017 Toyota Highlander

The 2017 Toyota Highlander is available in four non-hybrid trims, eight exterior colours, and a choice of FWD or AWD. A 3.5-litre, six-cylinder DOHC engine with VVT-i that produces 295 horsepower powers this SUV. The powertrain also includes an eight-speed automatic transmission, electronic power steering, and a transmission cooler. As far as fuel efficiency, you can get up to 12.0 L/100km city and 8.9 L/100km highway.*  On the interior, you get seating for up to eight, a six-speaker, 6.1-inch Touchscreen Audio with Bluetooth, Dual Zone climate control, Backup Camera, and SIRI Eyes-Free.
