FCA Doubles Down in Canada

FCA Doubles Down in Canada

Whether it's our outstanding sales team or the highly trained team in our service centre, Caledon Chrysler takes a lot of pride in properly representing our brand, community, and country. Therefore, we were excited to read that Unifor National President Jerry Dias believes that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Canada shows a stronger commitment to future investment in Canada than General Motors of Canada.

For those who don't know, Unifor is Canada's largest private sector union, with a membership of more than 310,000. They represent 23,000 autoworkers in the Canadian auto industry, including 9,750 Fiat Chrysler employees. These union members are spread over three major Canadian facilities that produce many of the Chrysler and Dodge vehicles we offer at Caledon Chrysler. These plants include a casting plant in Etobicoke, ON, and two major production facilities in Windsor and Brampton. The Windsor plant has 6,000 Unifor members and produces the popular Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Pacifica, while the Brampton facility has 3,330 members and makes the Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, and Dodge Charger. Unifor's Jerry Dias spoke out about Fiat Chrysler's superior commitment to Canada because The Big Three are in the process of negotiating and ratifying new three-year contracts.

At Caledon Chrysler, we have a great deal of confidence that FCA Canada and Unifor will quickly reach and agreement to keep producing Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, RAM, and Fiat vehicles for us to offer our loyal customers. According to reports, the goal of Unifor during these proceedings is to lock down major future investments in Canada. For FCA Canada, their goal is to get upgrades at the Brampton plant. The eventual equitable agreement will benefit both sides and everyone in Canada and be a clear indication that Mr. Dias was right about the commitment level of FCA Canada. They understand as we do at Caledon Chrysler, that the people of Canada respect companies that believe in them and their future. Everyone who comes to Caledon Chrysler in Bolton, ON, instantly sees that FCA Canada produces and sells only the high-quality products.

Canadian-made vehicles like the 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan rank high on many "best-of" lists and are extremely popular with our customers at Caledon Chrysler. The 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan, which is available in nine trim levels and five exterior colors, really is a perfect example of what both FCA and Unifor members can accomplish when they work together. This tough, Canadian-made vehicle has a 3.6-liter Pentastar VVT V6 engine that produces 283 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 260 lb.-ft. of torque at 4400 rpm that leads the Wards Auto small van category.
